  • Changing Views

I have some news but will keep it close to my chest for a bit. Just to make sure it is all true.

I mean, it all (life) will be much the same. Biking, adventures, and such. Just a new view. Kind of scary, kind of exciting. We just need to take our time and make the proper moves.

For instance, taking up fishing or boating. I mean, I love dirt. Cant find fish at a bike park unless you eat it for lunch. No, one must change their view. In more than one way.

Yep, our view will change. From flat to hill. From lodge to larch. No trails …well to lots of trails. Stay tuned.

  • The Elephant in the Room

This is day 3 of being stuck in Gardiner Montana. Instead of posting images I will focus on a better time.

Here is our photos of elephants in the Utah desert. Or our 2022 photos. Or if your feeling real brave. Rushed on time, here you go:

So there has been some … weather. We are stranded in gardiner MT. No roads in or out. Some people are working hard to open a land to get through a patchwork of roads north. I may or may not try this adventure. I am fin hunkered down. As long as my fast gooes strong and I dont start dreamng of food. So untill then a epic set of photos of Valley of Fire State Park.

The old man watches over our camp …
… which is down there somewhere.
Maybe we can sneak in behind him.
But then we have to deal with this one.
    Mo finds a back door.
    So many options.
    Going for it.
    Ahh back home.
    Someone is watching over us.

DAY: JUNE 2, 2021. OK, so even if the sun comes out. It is still too muddy to ride. So I need me some look back … look back to better times. Like Hurricane Utah times. #LivingstonMTIsAShithole

DAY: JUNE 1, 2021. So another day that is NOT spring. Oh wait! Or is it summer now? We don’t know these things. Its winter here still.

    Not winter … summer.
Don’t get me wrong, it can be winter there. But way nicer then let’s say #LivingstonMontanaIsAShithole.

  • Springtime Reflections

    Springtime Reflections

Battleground in 2020 is what I can say has never changed. The weather is battling spring, with the weather usually winning.
Whispering “things” to my bike like back in 2012
Posting to social media and hoping for some interesting followers like back in 2010
Used to have some good rides back in 2008 but lately those have gone away. Now it is just trying to survive a ride.
No where to go just like back in 2006.
Spectating the weather instead of cool races like back in 2004.
Or … sucker-holes instead of cool event again in 2004.
But, what am I grateful for? I mean this post is getting depressing looking back at good times compared to what we have now. Maybe time inside to do bike maintenance.
How about family, good things, while we can. Trying to keep it positive.
    I appreciate lessons learned.
One has to appreciate the beauty of winter.
JUST NOT DURING SPRING … ARGH

    Lord of the dingbats

What can I say. Bored and no place to ride a bike. Explore what is available and ride what you can.
  • Trying Winter

    Trying Winter

“let’s get outta here”, is what she said. Enough for me, “let’s go”. “I’ll take my new bike … even though … it was never meant for winter let alone the flattest place on earth”. Maybe it will work better in the wind.

Train tunnel leading away from our apartment to the West End

Bundled, we headed out across the plains. “can I try your new bike” … “Sure”

    Mo tries the new bike.

“Let’s head up to Suce”. … “Sure”

But then it happened. Like it does always this time of year. We ran out of sunlight. And that was it.

    Time to turn around

Taking some time to check out the beauty … if you can call it that. I mean devil dust is shit but it doesn’t look half bad in scenery.

    Devil dust covering the landscape.

As the sun passed over the ridge we were still way out. Another cold dark night lay ahead. Life in hell.

  • Christmas 2021

    Christmas 2021

Yea … so I have been posting images and adventures of times past when we visited the desert on vacation. Now let’s look at the other side of the coin. The JAIl, the horror, of real life Livingston Montana.

    Devel dust lookout

Christmas 2021. Where we were so depressed we couldn’t even comprehend buying each other christmas presents. We barely rustled together some little trinkets to put into a stock to at least have a day of joy(ish).

    Holidays 2021

Mo got me a gift … but I bought myself a new bike even when I knew I would never get to ride it the way I want.

Devel Dust covers the van as I sit inside and cry.

  • Sunsetting the desert

    Sunsetting the desert

The weather was moving in so we made a tough decision.
We went to bed that night with a plan.
The beauty that morning made that plan much much harder.
Was it time to hit the road?
Could we possibly keep the desert?
Unfortunately time to hit the road.
    Time to sunset the desert.

    Desert Animals Know The Past

We arrived in a campground and leveled River
    Riding into the desert.
Whoa, wait there human. Aren’t you supposed to be moving into Gardiner right now like you were in 2021?
    Yea, dude. Same as 2020!
Maybe we will hold onto this until you remember. Are you escaping snow like in 2016?
You must go back … you must go back. In 2015 it wasn’t that bad.
Cummon, let me show you. How to go with the flow like in 2012.
Ssssssss … don’t listen to him. Remember the Bike Accident Weekend in 2012?
Right, I remember how that went down.
Me … down here. I am talking to you. Like my cousin that talked to you in 2002 when you visited your sister.
With all the animals talking to us we decided to go back and eat some steak. Like in 2002 just another day.
