I Heart Desert Mountain Biking
DAY: JUNE 3, 2021. Again, cant do anything outside and no adventure so need to do my daily dose of looking back to better times.
I may look down but in fact I am completely in my environment and happy. Mo as well. And the cactus. Would love to live out here. In my dreams. Good times. -

I Heart Hurricane
DAY: JUNE 2, 2021. OK, so even if the sun comes out. It is still too muddy to ride. So I need me some look back … look back to better times. Like Hurricane Utah times. #LivingstonMTIsAShithole

Desert Gallery
DAY: JUNE 1, 2021. So another day that is NOT spring. Oh wait! Or is it summer now? We don’t know these things. Its winter here still.
Not winter … summer. Don’t get me wrong, it can be winter there. But way nicer then let’s say #LivingstonMontanaIsAShithole. Virgin River Cholla cactus Dream Trail Virgin Utah Gooseberry in white Desert Morning Dusting Hurricane Utah -

Much Needed Desert Images
So I a sitting here with the wind blowing the windows so violently I startle and pose to run. The rain is coming down in sheets. And it has been like this all day. I need to look back at better times in a better place.
Memory #1 is the sky. No matter how beautiful things get, the sky tries to out-do the landscape. Truly amazing. Memory #2 is the actual landscape … which … tries to out-do the skies. Competition is the best. Memory #3 is the sun. It comes up and it goes down. And it does it’s best to show off. Here in Livingston … just angry clouds and dust, which gets in your eyes so you can not see the mountains. Memory #4 is Snuggles, aka Mo. My adventure partner. Without her non of this would be so cool. Memory #5. Did I mention the mountain biking? Memory #6. Hurrican UT. I love that place. -

Memorial Day Weekend 2022
Hitting up Acton Bike Park. It rained. We left early. But it was not a wash. Not by a long shot.

Springtime Reflections
Battleground in 2020 is what I can say has never changed. The weather is battling spring, with the weather usually winning. Whispering “things” to my bike like back in 2012 Posting to social media and hoping for some interesting followers like back in 2010 Used to have some good rides back in 2008 but lately those have gone away. Now it is just trying to survive a ride. No where to go just like back in 2006. Spectating the weather instead of cool races like back in 2004. Or … sucker-holes instead of cool event again in 2004. But, what am I grateful for? I mean this post is getting depressing looking back at good times compared to what we have now. Maybe time inside to do bike maintenance. How about family, good things, while we can. Trying to keep it positive. I appreciate lessons learned. One has to appreciate the beauty of winter. JUST NOT DURING SPRING … ARGH -

Lord of the dingbats
What can I say. Bored and no place to ride a bike. Explore what is available and ride what you can. -

Wrecked
Some things do not make it in Livingston Montana and I feel like I am one of them. On This Day, May 24th

Color saving winter value
When the ground appears a bike ride is necessary. And the color gives it some value. Even the Yellowstone River takes on some extra value. Even the boring parts have some value. Color gives winter some value. On This Day

Trying Winter
“let’s get outta here”, is what she said. Enough for me, “let’s go”. “I’ll take my new bike … even though … it was never meant for winter let alone the flattest place on earth”. Maybe it will work better in the wind.
Train tunnel leading away from our apartment to the West End Bundled, we headed out across the plains. “can I try your new bike” … “Sure”
Mo tries the new bike. “Let’s head up to Suce”. … “Sure”
But then it happened. Like it does always this time of year. We ran out of sunlight. And that was it.
Time to turn around Taking some time to check out the beauty … if you can call it that. I mean devil dust is shit but it doesn’t look half bad in scenery.
Devil dust covering the landscape. As the sun passed over the ridge we were still way out. Another cold dark night lay ahead. Life in hell.
