Off the Beaten Path in the Park – Osprey Falls
One adventure we had was to hike to Osprey Falls. Totally worth it … and so was the nut butter sandwich picnic and dip.

With the morning fire dwindling we need to get going, time to pack the packs.

The last bit of daylight to make the surge to the last lake were we are hoping there is a place to put a tent.

After a day long climb finally we are prepared to do stage one on the day.

Adventure Choices
After dinner I was reminiscing about our recent backpack to Hilgard. Lots of people do it. Kind of boring right? The boring part being that everyone backpacks. I looked at our aspen grove and noticed that they are changing color. Holy shit I expressed to my partner. We better get out and do a bikepack this weekend. The summer is almost over. We are lucky that we have so many choices. We love backpacking and car camping but that is something everyone does. We actually have the option to bikepack and most people don’t. For one you need the gear … and I don’t mean a bob trailer. What we do is single-track hike-a-bike-remote bikepacking. Tons of friends are thinking … duh. But to most this is a freakish fantasy that they really have not come to terms with. And its fun. Just get out there and be where everyone is not. And stop doing the boring things.

We Got 6th
After a significant experience at the 24 Solo Worlds where we secured 6th place, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all my friends for their unwavering support and sacrifices. Your encouragement means the world to me. Please feel free to scroll to the bottom for the movies!
Health Update:
Post-race, I fell ill, likely from a massive sinus infection caused by inhaling coal dust for 24 hours. This manifested in alarming symptoms like black sludge from my nose and mouth. It’s a stark reminder of the physical toll these endurance events can take.Reflecting on the Race:
Initially, my goal in Canmore was to win a world title. While that didn’t happen, the journey turned into something much more meaningful. We created a special moment in time where friends collaborated to achieve something remarkable. We learned about each other and shared experiences that words can hardly encapsulate.The emotional finish, with weeping friends, supportive hugs, and words of encouragement, was profoundly touching. It reshaped my understanding of what’s truly important. This shared accomplishment far outweighs any title. I’m deeply thankful to Bob, Sten, and Rich for being a part of this journey.

A heartfelt thank you to Paul, Lucy, Niko, and Willow for coming to see me race. It was also an honor to have my brother Paul and his family there.
