Yea! So last night I threw my lights on and prepared my “screw bike” to do the inaugural “Pirate The Treasure”.
My training plan suggested I do a mock 3 hour hard effort race simulation. So I set up a loop (imaginative thoughts) in Patte Canyon that would utilize all iced over and non-ski area single-track and trails. The result a 6.3 mile loop with about 1,500 feet of climbing per lap. Oh yea! I had to do it at night … right???
When the dust (snow dust created from spinning a bike tire laden with screws) cleared I had done 20 miles including the prologue and just shy of 4,000 feet of climbing.
