  • Back From Montreal

The digital gremlins may have tried to silence me on the blogger front, but fear not, for I’m back and raring to share tales fresh from the streets of Montreal! 🇨🇦 Think cobbled streets echoing with laughter, cafes overflowing with aroma, and enough poutine to satisfy even the hungriest yeti.

Stay tuned, for tomorrow I’ll spill the beans (or should I say, the poutine gravy?) on all the mishaps, marvels, and maple-syrup-soaked moments from my travels. Get ready for a dose of laughter, local insights, and maybe even a sprinkle of existential pondering from a caffeine-fueled writer on the loose.

Until then, keep those creative fires burning and remember, even glitchy websites can’t dampen the spirit of a storyteller!

P.S. If you have any Montreal recommendations, hit me up in the comments! I’m all ears (and taste buds).

  • Blog From Plattsburgh

Created by DALL-E to fill in posts that don’t have a image for blog functionality (prettiness)

Yo, story lovers! Calling all culture vultures and carb connoisseurs straight outta Plattsburgh, New York! Guess who’s back from a whirlwind adventure of muddy waters (the literal kind, not the emotional kind… although there may have been some laughter-induced tears) and bookstore browsing in the charming land of Burlington, Vermont? That’s right, your friendly neighborhood wordsmith, fresh off a calorie-rich (and undeniably fun) escapade with the ever-intrepid Paul by their side.

But alas, our Plattsburgh pitstop is nearing its end! We’re about to embark on a glorious pilgrimage to the poutine paradise of Montreal, Quebec. Prepare yourselves for tales of maple syrup-soaked delights, bilingual bon mots, and enough laughter to fuel a sugar shack for a week.

To all my Plattsburgh peeps, don’t be surprised if I pop up tomorrow for a surprise visit! I mean, who can resist the lure of friendly faces and potentially more bookstore browsing (hey, a writer’s gotta feed their book addiction, right?).

So long for now, and here’s to adventures, both literary and culinary! Stay tuned for Montreal mishaps, maple musings, and maybe even a sprinkle of existential pondering from this caffeine-fueled wordsmith on the loose. Until then, keep it real, keep it delicious, and remember, bookstores and good company are always worth the journey.

    À bientôt, mes amis!

  • Paul and Lucy in Glen Falls

    JUst us having fun

Heading up to Glens Falls today to catch up with my buddy Paul Bardis for the weekend. Can’t wait—it’s gonna be a blast! Got a few spots on my hit list like Muddy Waters in Burlington, Vermont, and that killer Indian spot in Montreal I’m all about. Plus, gonna try and swing by Plattsburgh to see some other pals.

It’s on days like this I remember, especially when things get tough, that brighter days are ahead. You know those rough patches, right? When old fears creep up on us, making us feel all sorts of vulnerable and shaky. Man, talking about those really grim days.

During those times, it feels impossible to trust ourselves, let alone anyone else. It’s like every hope we’ve got just won’t come true.

It’s exactly then, we start thinking we need someone else to unlock our happiness. Those are the moments we might try to micromanage everything and everyone, trying to hide our hurt, but often just ending up rubbing people the wrong way.

But here’s a thought for today: Even if we managed to control everything, got exactly what we wanted, we’d still be dealing with our own inner chaos.

Others can’t fix our pain. It’s something we’ve gotta face with the tools we’ve got, leaning on friends and whatever higher power you believe in. And when we finally push past those dark times, peace doesn’t just show up; it arrives smoothly, effortlessly. The sun comes out, and suddenly, it’s a great day again, just like today.

So, let’s just take a step back and trust the process. If today’s looking a bit bleak, that’s all it is—a temporary cloud cover. It’ll clear up.

  • My Emotional Profile

    Here’s my emotional profile:

You’re on the hunt for love, aiming for that full-on joy and connection. You’ve got a huge heart, always ready to lend a hand or bend a bit to keep that special bond alive. But, you need peeps to get you, to give back that understanding and care. Sometimes, this holds you back. So, why not just let go? Trust a bit, and you might just be wowed by what unfolds.

You’re all about getting what you crave, by any means necessary, kinda like those movie characters who are determined to win, no matter what. You’ve got your pride, playing it cool like you don’t care much about the highs and lows, but deep down? You’re a bundle of feelings, quick to decide and maybe quick to regret. It’s time to ditch that mask, let those emotions flow, and have a blast being your true self.

Lately, you’re feeling super stressed and on edge, like you’re battling to stay chill amidst all the chaos. This could leave you drained, snapping at folks, or feeling a bit down in the dumps. This tough phase has got you fuming, feeling stuck and powerless about not hitting your goals, and it’s driving you to the brink. But hey, it ain’t over yet. Take a breather, hit pause on everything, and remember, sometimes, it’s okay to retreat and recharge for the next round.

You’re totally spent, not up for more challenges. The current mess has left you feeling trapped, unable to keep up the mental fight you’ve been waging. You’ve had it. Now, all you crave is some me-time, a quiet spot to heal at your own pace.

    Bedtime Thoughts & Unplanned Wins

Heading to bed, folks. The plan? To chart out all the mountain bike trails as a guide for apartment hunting. Did that happen? Nope. But, I stumbled into a deep dive with Dreamweaver instead. And guess what? Some pretty slick tricks were learned. So, keep your eyes peeled – my website’s about to get a major facelift. Stay tuned…

  • Listening To My Inner Self

    Listening To My Inner Self

Today is all about listening. I don’t train on the bicycle today so I will be able to listen to my body and my inner-self more today. I want to relax and get ready for this weekend and the upcoming month. Next month I will be saving for two things. Moving and Mountain Bike Racing season. This weekend is my trip to Montreal with Paul. Last night I went to have pizza and a movie with friends. The pizza was absolutely fantastic. The movie ”Collateral Damage“ was awesome mostly because I love Arnold. Today’s big project to think about also is where do I want to live. The first step is to locate the central area of where I mountain bike.

  • Grown Up Job Deserves Pizza!

Dove back into the Flash jungle last night, and boy, does it feel like a maze. Not sure if I’m game enough to keep at it, but gotta admit, a Flash-powered website does sound kinda epic.

In other news, kicked off a new project with the work gang – Random Thoughts [no longer available]. It’s our brainchild from a post-it note frenzy that literally outgrew someone’s wall space. Crazy, right?

And here I am, wrestling with the idea of being all grown-up and job-y. Seriously, when did that happen? Don’t feel a day over ‘just winging it’. Had a heart-to-heart with a colleague, and guess what? It’s not just me. Seems like we’re all aboard the “What am I even doing?” train.

Anyway, tonight’s plan? Pizza and a movie with the squad. Can’t. Wait. PIZZA!

  • Still Mounain Bike (able)

    Quinnipiac University Connecticut

Still in the saddle and pedaling strong, I managed to sneak in an hour of mountain biking after work. Let me tell ya, it was frigid—the kind of cold that makes you question your life choices. But, despite Connecticut deciding to double down on the freezer settings, it was a chill (pun intended) cruise through the countryside. Now, it’s time to hit the pause button and gear up for the next round of base training. Yeah, I’m a bit behind schedule, but who’s counting?

Tonight’s agenda? Diving headfirst into the wild world of web publishing and Flash. Because, honestly, the same old digital scenery’s starting to wear out its welcome. Time to shake things up a bit.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane with my intriguing blog posts:

  • Trust Our Higher Power

Diving deep into the cosmic playbook, I’ve got this hunch that we’re all pieces of a much bigger puzzle. There’s something kind of magical about that, you know? It’s like we’re given this golden ticket to just let go and trust in something beyond ourselves, a higher power that’s got the roadmap to the grand scheme of things. Some folks might slap a label on it, calling it destiny. Makes you pause and ponder, right?

Here’s the kicker. We’re not here by accident. No way. We don’t need to micromanage every little thing to make life tick. Instead, how about we lean into the idea of trusting that higher power? It’s a bit like what people always say, “things always work out in the end.” And maybe, just maybe, that’s because there’s a bigger plan in play, guiding us along, even when the path seems a bit foggy. So, let’s take a breath, ease off the control pedal, and see where this journey takes us.

  • Paul, Montreal, and Burlington

Rise and shine! Here I am, clocked in and ready to dive back into the daily hustle. But before the grind completely takes over, let’s rewind a bit, shall we? Reflecting on it, the weekend was a blast, and guess what? The upcoming one’s shaping up to be just as epic. So, what’s on the agenda during this breather from training? I’m thinking a little road trip is in order. The plan’s to hit the road, cruise up, and hang out with my buddy Paul. And since we’re at it, why not make a mini adventure out of it? Burlington and Montreal, here we come. That’s the game plan, at least.

  • Mountain Biking is Awesome Here

Man, diving into the depths of blogger sure did eat up your evening, huh? Now it’s hitting the sack time. But hey, let’s not brush past the epic day you had. Mountain biking around these parts? Sounds like it’s straight outta a dream! Three hours of pedaling through a gentle drizzle? That’s what I call a blast. Pure, unadulterated FUN!

  • Dropping Out Of School

    Dropping Out Of School

New update … I have withdrawn from school. Maybe it is just too soon to go back. I found out that I may be responsible for paying the tuition until UTC reimbursed me so I dropped out of my Simulation class. I can now focus on getting back to mountain bike racing and training. The entire reason for going back to school in the past was to better my financial situation so i could continue to do what I loved. And I do miss the racing scene. I cant wait for this summer.

  • Do You Yahooo

What a blast of a weekend! Hit the trails at Sleeping Giant on Saturday, spotting deer during a cool, sunny 2-hour hike. Sunday turned warmer, perfect for mountain biking in Brookfield park. Ventured into Naugatachet State Forest, discovering thrilling, rocky single-track trails. Capped off with a Super Bowl party at Sean’s—amazing chili and company, including interesting new faces. Absolutely fantastic time!

  • Sick Day

    Added later by DALL-E

Last night was rough. Got sick during a movie, and my attempt to fix it with Excedrin Migraine and Nighttime backfired. Ended up dizzy, nauseous, and with a worse headache.

The movie, “Memento,” was awesome though – weird but good.

Tonight, I’m hitting the movies with coworkers. We’re seeing “The Mothman Prophecies” and grabbing pizza first. Hoping to squeeze in a bike ride after work.

The weather’s amazing – 66 degrees! Can’t believe it. Yahoo!

  • Escaping the Grind: Movie Night, Mountains, and Mindfulness

Phew, what a day! Work threw a real curveball at me with an impossible task. Needless to say, I’m feeling fried. But hey, that’s why movie night is my savior! Tonight, I’m diving into Fatal Error, a tech-thriller that promises to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Earlier today, thankfully, the sunshine offered a much-needed escape. With temperatures in the balmy 50s, it was the perfect excuse to get some fresh air. Now, I’m torn between two fantastic options for tomorrow: a scenic hike with my buddy Sean or a solo mountain bike adventure.

Honestly, with weather this good, maybe I’ll do both! Who knows, maybe a sunrise hike followed by an afternoon shredding some sweet downhill trails sounds perfect.

Of course, with work demands and all, there’s always the looming shadow of schoolwork. But here’s the thing: I’m working on mastering a new approach. No more needless worry! If I find myself stressing, I’ll acknowledge it, but also remind myself that it’s a choice. And guess what? Choosing worry doesn’t serve me! So, I’ll let it go, focus on the tasks at hand, and trust that everything will work out as it should.

Right now, though, it’s all about movie night and some well-deserved relaxation. Let the thrills of Fatal Error wash away the workday woes, and let my imagination soar with the possibilities of tomorrow’s adventures. Cheers to conquering challenges, embracing the outdoors, and choosing peace of mind!

  • Work, School, and Cycling

    Work, School, and Cycling

Hey adventure buddies! Life’s a wild ride, right? I’m prepping for mountain bike season, juggling work, school, and training – like balancing on a unicycle. Forgot my lunch today, just to add to the chaos.

Stomach rumbling, I remembered – dentist appointment after work. Oh, and mountains of homework. So, when to train? It’s about snatching those tiny moments. Squats while coffee brews, stairs over elevators – every bit helps.

I’m streamlining stress, not just for training, but sanity too. Finding calm in the storm, maybe a quick bike spin or walk. To all you busy bees – we’re in this together. There’s 24 hours in our chaotic days, let’s make them count!

Roll on, friends. Got any tips for balancing life? I’m all ears! 🚴‍♂️💨📚👍

  • Move To Vermont

    Move To Vermont

With its breathtaking landscapes, Vermont could be a fantastic place for mountain biking. Imagine cruising down those scenic trails, surrounded by lush forests and rugged terrain – it’s the perfect way to de-stress from a hectic job and maybe even meet some like-minded adventurers.

Mountain biking can be more than just a sport; it’s a community, a way to connect with nature, and a fantastic avenue for personal growth. As I work towards my masters and navigate new relationships, remember that the trails can be a great metaphor for life – sometimes rocky, sometimes smooth, but always moving forward.

Since I am working on fitness, mountain biking could be a fun and effective addition to your routine. It’s an excellent full-body workout, improving cardiovascular health and building strength, especially in the legs and core.

And hey, who knows? You might find that meaningful relationship on a group ride or a local biking event. Mountain biking communities are often welcoming and diverse, and shared interests can spark great connections.
