Have you ever woken up certain it’s the weekend, only to discover it’s a mundane Monday? Well, let me tell you about the day my world flipped upside down, starting with a fat bike adventure along Washington State Route 109.

Our mission was simple – find the elusive Narnia trail. Sounds magical, right? Think again. Past the legit-looking turnoff, we plunged into a landscape scarred by logging and construction. Trails? More like ghost paths swallowed by machinery and clear cuts.

We navigated through a maze of skidders and cranes, surprisingly unnoticed, until we decided it was time to find civilization. Enter Seabrook – or as I dubbed it, Perfectville. This town wasn’t just quaint; it was uncannily perfect. Picture Bozeman-like neighborhoods, but with crushed seashell sidewalks and residents so polite it felt like a dystopian novel.

Seabrook was a patchwork of styles, each house shiny and new. The trails, though technically in parks, were more jungle-like, with tech-savvy locals zooming around in silent electric cars. And the center of town? A hub for the ultra-AI-rich, complete with a skate rink and heated pool, all set against a perpetual beach backdrop.

But beneath the surface, there was something off about this ‘Natural Market’ town. It was as if we’d biked into a perfectly curated illusion. We even toyed with the idea of Seabrook being haunted or a hotspot for Bigfoot – you know, just to add some spice to this surreal experience.

In the end, the allure of the ordinary drew us to Pacific Beach. As I said to Snuggles, my trusty bike, “Let’s get out of here before the weirdness turns the day into night.”
