Cape Mears Lighthouse

Cape Meares Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located in Tillamook County, Oregon. The lighthouse was built in 1890 and is now part of Cape Meares State Park. The lighthouse has a unique lens system that consists of a first-order Fresnel lens that is over six feet tall and weighs over two tons. The lighthouse also has a black and white checkerboard pattern on its exterior to help it stand out during the day. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1963 but has been preserved as a historic site. Visitors to the park can climb up to the lighthouse and take in the stunning views of the surrounding coast.
