Our last day in Yellowstone National Park and this tie we headed off the beaten path again. This time to Black Canyon. And to run into two, yes two, rattlesnakes.

From the top to the bottom we finish up our terraces exploration by hiking from the spring at the top all the way to the front porch where we would relax, drink libations, and watch elk.

Off the Beaten Path in the Park – Terraces
As a storm rolled in we thought it would be nice to take a walk after a feast of tacos at the Chittenden House. That walk turned out to be a foray into the terraces for the evening. Approaching them I realized I had never visited the terraces. Maybe not an off the beaten path effort but then the storm drove the hoards away so that in itself is not exactly popular. The thunder solidified that we would be alone.

One adventure we had was to hike to Osprey Falls. Totally worth it … and so was the nut butter sandwich picnic and dip.
