Snowlong j9 of the new year 23. We missed another campout weekend. And instead of focusing on that today we will just look back in appreciation, because that is what we do, at christmas in the new lodging situation. It is a great devil dust beach home with magnificant views and a big deck to enjoy the holidays.

Prison log j8, 2023. We tried to go winter camping. I know it is odd, but it’s our passion. And we love River. We drove north on I90 to St. Regis and then up 135. Surely we would find a campsite. All we found is snow and closed gates. No one camps in the winter? Bunch of powder puffs! Sorry, don’t mean to be mean. I just am frustrated. Why? Because we eventually drove all day ending up back at home. This after packing River for a couple hours, we then unpacked and winterized it for another 2 hours before bed. INDOORS! YUK … FUCK this. I am out! Nothing to be proud of … except the wonderful memories. This is a great place, right?

Snow log January 6th. Time for another project to try and beat back depression. I think I’m going to try and make our new Dometic faucet more appealing. Also we will need to make under the counter more organized.

The final product folks. We have storage under the galley table. We have the passenger seat work area. And we have a picnic style for when someone sits on the bench.

In today’s news we have decided to use a Ikea-like chopping block to put a Lagun table in our van.

I woke up from a dream where we lived in a windy town and this monster cloud enslaved the community. In the dream, we were just at the part where the escape was to go down and then I woke up to wind rustling our tree outside. That’s weird, the wind never blows in Missoula.

The dream faded as the work day progressed, and soon it was time to go for a ride. Fat bike was the flavor of the day. I jumped into our Honda Element and headed to the local trailhead.

I had almost entirely forgotten about the dream, but the tracks disappearing into the distance brought it all back to me. We eventually escaped from Livingston, and I am thankful for that. But now what is this? And why do people try to get away?

Sun

When it comes out one must appreciate it. One must give thanks for it and must get outside and soak it up.

Sound of Music Full Run Winter Edition
The sun is out today, so I really appreciate that. Otherwise, there is a slight chance we could still make the Oregon coast on the 1st of this year. Super long shot though in any case, we need to keep focus on what is so much fun about Winter.

What To Do?

Here is the stats. Last week -22 degrees. Yesterday almost 50 degrees. Rain all day. Snow for the last 2 months straight. It is a real mixed bag outside. Too bad I like outside. Thankfully we have a tool for such situations. BEER!

Is this Christmas?

Will this be it? Will we be stuck in a winter storm? The answer is YES. I am certainly grateful for the memories. Especially, my web site, where I can go back and relive the good times. https://williammartin.com/0000/12/27/
