My Christmas Vacation

This Christmas took a turn for the unexpected when I found myself in Yuma, Arizona. Unlike the usual winter wonderlands, Yuma offered a warm embrace under the Arizona sun. The journey there was an adventure in itself – a blend of air travel and a road trip, each offering their unique vistas and experiences.

The purpose of my visit was bittersweet. My dad was in the hospital battling cancer, a reality that casts a shadow over the festive season. Yet, amidst these challenging times, there were moments of tranquility and reflection. The hospital visits, though emotionally taxing, were interspersed with the simple pleasure of renting movies – a small yet significant escape from reality.

In between these moments, I managed to explore the surrounding areas of Yuma. Armed with my camera, I captured the essence of this unique part of Arizona. The landscape, so different from the snowy scenes often associated with Christmas, had a beauty of its own. The photos, now available in the Photography section of the blog, are a testament to Yuma’s serene and rugged charm.

This Christmas was a reminder that joy, sorrow, beauty, and pain often coexist. It was a time of family, resilience, and the unexpected beauty found in a desert town during the holidays.
