Burlington Bound: From Desert Views to City Blues

There’s something magical about capturing a fleeting moment from a moving car, a snapshot of a train chugging along in the vast desert. That’s exactly what I did for Niko, a testament to the spontaneity of travel and the joy of unexpected sights. But as the dust of the desert settles, my mind wanders to Burlington. Ah, Burlington, with its vibrant streets and cozy corners – a perfect plan for an upcoming weekend.

Yet, here I am, back from my adventures, and oh boy, I’ve brought back more than memories. I’m sicker than a dog, voice gone, ears aching, and my neck? Let’s just say it’s competing with my head in size. Work? Not today. It’s a day off for recovery.

In the midst of this, I’m buzzing about my new camera. It’s an upgrade from the Kodak EasyShare 4200 I’ve been using. Speaking of which, it’s up for grabs – $150 with all the bells and whistles, or $100 for just the basics. This little trooper comes with a case, lithium batteries, USB cables, a video patch, a 64MB memory card, and more. It’s been my faithful companion for 3 months, but now it’s time to pass it on. If you’re itching to try it out before diving into a new purchase, just give me a holler.

Why the change? I got my hands on a Fuji 3800. This beauty boasts a 6X optical zoom and 3.2 megapixels. It can even shoot digital movies with sound and add voice commentary – a feature that’s sure to make Mom laugh (or roll her eyes). Remember my frustration in Arizona? When every captivating scene seemed just out of reach? That’s history now. Even though I’m under the weather and can’t test it out at the lakes, I’m excited. Those elusive deer won’t stand a chance next time.

I snagged this gem from Ritz Camera for $400. A bit of a dent in the wallet, but hey, some stuff’s got to go. The old camera, an extra mountain bike, and that ancient computer are on the chopping block. It’s all about balance, right? Even if it means a little chat with CITI (guilty as charged).

So, here I am, bundled up, resting, and daydreaming about the adventures to come with my new Fuji. If only I had a partner in crime to share these moments. But for now, I’ll rest, recover, and get ready for the next escapade. Burlington, I’m coming for you!
