The RMVQ
LENGTH: 153-154 miles
CLIMBING: 26,984 feet
START: noon 10AM
FINISH: noon 10AM next day
HISTORY/RESULTS: 2008 2009
The name of this quest used to be called Bill's Vision Quest and then Mule Terra Vision Quest. It is now called "Remember Marcy Vision Quest" because she died August 31st, 2008 and I feel the need to do something in the honor of a great animal, my friend who has climbed almost every high point in New England and New York.
My friend and adventure partner she had a certain athletic spirit to be celebrated. Even in Montana Marcy was first to the top and out in front on every epic journey. Her energy rides with all who ride the RMVQ.
The RMVQ can be ridden any time. Not an “official” route or trail the RMVQ is a dream loop that my friends and I have dreamed about doing for quite a while. Marcy used to sit at my feet sleeping while I was white-boarding this loop and starring at maps. Now her spirit joins this loop into a journey to discover your very soul. It is designed to be done at once in 24 hours and for me around every last weekend in September.
This page will have the route info and records of all who have taken the challenge to ride with Marcy. Please give me details to be included in the historical scrolls of RMVQ. What I do is take a photo of each check point (it is good to set your camera date/time correctly first) and that is used to reconstruct times, pace, photos, etc. Actually that used to be an official rule.
*I am usually in need of people to ride the legs with me or support so sign up for a ride or an aid station. It is actually a fun time for all!
Notes
- The Sunrise is 7:59 am and Sunset at 6:43 pm around Oct 17.

August 15th!!!
That is the most viable date
That is the most viable date I can see this summer. But I am not feeling the enthusiasm for it ...
August 15th, is three weeks after the worlds, two weeks after Butte 100, and three weeks before 8 Hours of Labor. I think that is too close. I don't think I could do it and organize it in between all that action. I thought just making it to the Butte 100 would be an achievement but to turn around after back to back ultra distance races and do another would be too much for me.
It might be too early to tell, who knows, I might not make some of these races and will be chomping at the bit. If the economy doesn't pick up it will be wide open.
I really like to have everyone be happy and I really would like to find a better date, but this one is right in the middle of things. I just don't see it.
Hey Bill - are you planning
