Last night I attended a party and sure enough I consumed enough calories to fuel a freight train all the way to Saint Louis. I was able to get out and hike with Marcy afterwards but the workout only made me feel better mentally. When I stepped on the scale I knew I could not ignore today's scheduled road bike ride.
Today's endeavor took me 22 miles out to Clinton and back which does not sound like much. Let's take in account that it was only 19 degrees out and the road was covered with ice at times. It was nice to see daylight and actually go cycling in it.
So it sounds like my week has been filled with outdoor activity but in fact it was kind of a disappointing week. Besides the stress at work my ankle has been becoming a problem. Thus all the cycling! On Thursday night I headed up Pattee Canyon to do some skate skiing. I ended up walking out of the woods due to my ankle throbbing so much. It is funny! I can walk barefooted but as soon as I put on a boot or anything that squeezes my foot a little I can barely stand it.
Besides the worry about my ankle I have been trying to gather data on where the races are this summer so I can set up some plans. Tonight I must give it up and just watch a movie. So I guess I will sign off for now.
