Back From Lone Peak Revenge

Hello from the Break Espresso where I have enjoyed a muffin and a cup of coffee. I just made a new page here to collect votes of Missoula's top trail . Last night I returned from Lone Peak Revenge a Montana Off Road Series race where I pretty much ended up in last place due to a mechanical.

My replacement frame arrived Friday afternoon but was missing the parts that usually come with the frame. The seat post is not standard and requires their special clamp. It was missing so I had to "Fashion" one from the K2. I rigged the seat post but in yesterday's race the seat fell down and I had to walk the course. I asked if I could borrow a tool from someone and the official said that I could and even gave me his. So we repaired the bike and my last two laps were very fun. The course was a "real" mountain bike course, unlike all of the races so far that I have done in Montana. there were three climbs with one being just like the Wallman climb. The course was not for the weak. The best one so far and the scenery at Big Sky was breath taking. There is free camping nearby so next year we are planning to make it a weekend.

Next weekend is the Series race here in Missoula and I have a delima. I was shocked to find out that the organizer might be a real estate agent and he is planning to host the race at Tom McClay's place (a ski area proposed on Lolo Peak ). I have a history of my disapproval of the new resort.

If that was not bad enough ... it was pointed out to me that the entire race series is being underwritten by Tom McClay (thus the Bitterroot Resort on our number plates). My friends and I are very disappointed to find this all out. The question is what should I do next week? If I boycott then Ill definitely will lose more positions in the series. I was thinking of wearing a shirt that says "Save Lolo Peak" and racing with that. What would you do? I am so upset about these jerks using us for their own gain. Please comment!
